The future energy mix: Batteries, hydrogen and hybrid systems for mobility & industry

Wed 11 Mar | 10:35 - 11:15

No single technology will decarbonise everything. This session analyses how batteries, hydrogen and hybrid systems will coexist across segments such as passenger cars, heavy-duty vehicles, rail, maritime and industrial processes. Experts will discuss where each solution makes the most sense in terms of cost, range, infrastructure and operational flexibility. The panel will also explore sector coupling between electricity, gas and liquid fuels, and how system operators are planning for a more complex, flexible and distributed energy landscape. A pragmatic, technology-agnostic conversation on what the real energy mix for 2030–2040 could look like in Europe and beyond.
