EU Automobile Regulations: Perspectives from Regulators, Industry and Users

Tue 10 Mar | 12:30 - 13:40

In December 2025, the EU Commission made a proposal to allow some thermal engines after 2035, thus reopening the debate on the transition towards climate-neutral mobility. It is in the middle of the negotiations with the EU parliament and the EU Council. In this roundtable representatives from the EU and regulators will explain where they stand and we will ask the opinions of representatives from governments and users about the changes: do they favor it, what specific new measures do they champion, what impact do they forecast on freedom of movement and employment and how regulation can remain technologically neutral while fostering innovation, clean technologies and industrial competitiveness? This will set the stage to all the other speeches and roundtables.
